Laurel Valley is a beautiful, gated golf course community on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Townsend, Tennessee. Its 1400 acres provide spacious home sites with some of the best views in East Tennessee. Laurel Valley was established on November 12, 1987.
Our home city is Townsend Tennessee and we are sure proud of her. Townsend promotes itself as the “Peaceful Side of the Smokies.” The Townsend website describes her this way: Slower paced living and small town charm surrounded by beautiful mountain views make Townsend an ideal place to call home. We certainly agree, and would add Laurel Valley is just the icing on the Townsend cake!
Living literally on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park sure comes with advantages too. Established in 1923, GSMNP brags an impressive 500,000 acres with 800 miles of trails, and the best of the Southern Appalachian culture. Visitors can observe thousands of types of plants and animals including the impressive Black Bear. Residents in Laurel Valley are blessed with daily views of wild Black Bear foresting for food in our community. But be careful if you visit! We take our resident bears seriously and won't put up with anyone feeding them. Be sure to check out our information about living alongside Black Bears on this site. Read details HERE.
